“My sense of style is a mix of the places I’ve lived: the Caribbean, New York and San Francisco. I’m attracted to bold and bright colors,” says artist and creative director George McCalman. After spearheading his namesake design studio for two decades, the Hayes Valley resident has shifted his focus to painting, with an inaugural solo art show at Birch this summer.
