See what’s catching the L.A. chef’s eye
The James Beard-nominated chef and owner of L.A.’s beloved Night+Market restaurants, Kris Yenbamroong, has a subtly refined approach to Thai street food—an attitude that’s also manifested in his high-low personal style. “I wear the same thing in the kitchen as I do out of it. I just change into Dansko clogs and lose the leather jacket,” admits the lifelong Angeleno, who opened his first outpost next to his family’s longstanding Sunset Strip eatery, Talesai, in 2010. As he continues to feed his appetite for fashion—most recently with an eyewear collaboration with Garrett Leight—the Silver Lake-based restaurateur also plans to grow his dining empire, with a new third location coming soon to Venice and a Night+Market cookbook to be released in the fall.
